usakym
Usakym is a constructed, fictional language family developed for linguistic experimentation and conlang communities. It comprises two primary languages, Usakyan and Usakyma, sharing a core lexicon and grammatical framework while differing in phonology and vocabulary. Usakym is designed to model agglutinative morphology, vowel harmony, and evidentiality systems.
Origin and development: The project began in 2002 under linguist Mara Talan as a teaching and research
Phonology and writing: Usakym features a six-vowel system (a e i o u) with a front-back harmony
Grammar: The languages are primarily agglutinative with subject–object–verb word order. Nouns inflect for number and case;
Usage and status: Usakym has a modest body of documentation, including grammars, dictionaries, and sample texts.
