ujevnte

Ujevnte is a fictional rural municipality in the Verdian region of the imagined continent Nystria. The name derives from the local dialect, meaning river bend. It lies at the confluence of the Nyra and Luma rivers, at about 180 meters above sea level, and covers roughly 24 square kilometers of valley, farmland, and woodland. The population is about 2,300, concentrated in the central village with several hamlets along the waterways. Verdian is the official language.

Historically, Ujevnte is first mentioned in Verdan chronicles from the 12th century. It grew as a riverside crossing and market town. The arrival of the railway in 1898 stimulated growth in agriculture and handicrafts, and later road improvements connected the community to larger towns. In the late 20th century, conservation and tourism became important economic factors.

Governance and demographics: The municipality is part of the Verdan district and is governed by a mayor and a five-member council elected every four years. Public services include a primary school, a small clinic, and municipal offices. The area hosts a mix of farming households and small enterprises.

Culture and landmarks: Ujevnte hosts the River Festival each summer, featuring traditional music, crafts, and local cuisine. Notable landmarks include St. Martin's Church (12th century) and the Riverbank Reserve along the Nyra-Luma confluence. Local crafts emphasize pottery and woodwork.
