The tårkanalens, or lacrimal canaliculi, are two small ducts in the inner corner of the eyelids that drain tears from the eye. These tiny tubes begin at a small opening called the punctum, located on the margin of each eyelid. When a person blinks, tears are spread across the surface of the eye, and this action also helps to push excess tears towards the puncta. From the puncta, the tears enter the canaliculi and travel down towards the lacrimal sac.
