Täytäntöönpanolakia, often translated as the Enforcement Code or Execution Act, is Finnish legislation governing the enforcement of court judgments and other legally binding decisions. Its primary purpose is to ensure that debts and obligations established by law are effectively collected and fulfilled. The law outlines the procedures and authority for enforcing various types of claims, including monetary debts, eviction orders, and obligations to perform or refrain from certain actions.

The enforcement process is typically initiated by a creditor who has obtained a legally enforceable document, such as a court judgment, a payment order, or a notarized debt instrument. The creditor then applies to the enforcement authority, which in Finland is the Enforcement Office (ulosottovirasto), to initiate enforcement proceedings. The Enforcement Office has the power to take various measures to satisfy the creditor's claim.

These measures can include seizing and selling the debtor's movable and immovable property, garnishing wages or bank accounts, or enforcing eviction from a property. The law also sets out specific rules regarding the types of assets that can be seized and the procedures for their disposal. Furthermore, the Enforcement Code addresses the rights and obligations of both creditors and debtors, including provisions for appeals and the possibility of payment arrangements. The underlying principle is to provide a structured and fair mechanism for resolving outstanding legal obligations.
