Täitevõimu refers to the executive power in Estonia. It is vested in the Government of the Republic, which is composed of the Prime Minister and ministers. The Government is responsible for implementing the laws passed by the Riigikogu (parliament) and for formulating and implementing the state's domestic and foreign policy.

The Prime Minister is appointed by the President of the Republic upon nomination by the Riigikogu. The Prime Minister then nominates the ministers, who are appointed by the President. The Government is accountable to the Riigikogu, which can pass a vote of no confidence to remove the Government from office.

The täitevõimu has a wide range of responsibilities, including managing the national budget, conducting foreign relations, commanding the armed forces, and ensuring public order and security. The Government operates through various ministries, each responsible for a specific area of state administration, such as finance, education, or defense. The Government's work is guided by the Constitution of Estonia and other laws. The principle of separation of powers is a fundamental aspect of Estonia's political system, with the täitevõimu acting as one of the three independent branches of government, alongside the legislative (Riigikogu) and judicial (courts) branches.
