toupperya
Toupperya is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, native to South America. The genus is characterized by its small, annual herbs, typically growing to a height of 10-30 centimeters. The leaves are alternate, simple, and often have a hairy texture. The inflorescence is a small, flat-topped cluster of flowers, each with a yellow or white corolla and a central disc. The flowers are hermaphroditic, with both male and female reproductive structures present. Toupperya plants are known for their ability to tolerate a wide range of soil conditions and are often used in landscaping for their low maintenance requirements. The genus is named after the French botanist Jean-Baptiste de Lamarck, who first described the plants in 1805. There are currently around 15 recognized species within the genus Toupperya, each with its own unique characteristics and distribution.
