Torrenttiedosto, also known as a torrent file, is a small metadata file used by the BitTorrent peer-to-peer file sharing protocol. It does not contain the actual content being shared, but rather information about that content. This information includes the names and sizes of files, and crucially, the network path information to a tracker server. The tracker server is responsible for coordinating peers who have pieces of the desired file.
