Tigres is a professional football (soccer) club based in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Founded on October 1, 1943, as Club Deportivo Monterrey, the team is one of the most successful in Mexican football history. The club was renamed Tigres de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in 1960, later shortened to Tigres UANL in 1996, and finally to Tigres in 2012.

Tigres plays its home matches at the Estadio Universitario, a 53,500-seat stadium located on the campus of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL).
