Database development also involves writing data definition language (DDL) statements to create the database schema and data manipulation language (DML) statements to insert, update, and delete data. Performance tuning is a critical aspect, involving optimizing queries, creating indexes, and configuring the DBMS to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
