Termospulloja, known in English as vacuum flasks or thermoses, are insulated containers designed to keep hot beverages hot and cold beverages cold for extended periods. Their effectiveness relies on a double-walled construction with a vacuum sealed between the inner and outer walls. This vacuum significantly reduces heat transfer through conduction and convection. The inner wall is typically made of glass or stainless steel, and its surface is often silvered to further minimize heat transfer via radiation.

The earliest successful vacuum flask was invented by Sir James Dewar in 1892, though it was initially intended for scientific purposes. Later commercialized by Reinhold Burger, the term "Thermos" became so widely recognized that it often became a generic term for all such containers. Modern termospulloja are used for a wide variety of liquids, including coffee, tea, soup, and water, making them popular for picnics, travel, outdoor activities, and daily use. They come in various sizes and designs, catering to different needs and preferences. The seal at the top is crucial for maintaining the temperature, as a poor seal can lead to significant heat loss or gain.
