Termokastid are a type of insulated container designed to maintain a specific temperature for goods during transport or storage. The name "termokastid" is derived from the Greek word "thermos" meaning heat and the Latin word "castra" meaning box or case. These containers are commonly used for transporting perishable items such as food, pharmaceuticals, and biological samples that require precise temperature control to prevent spoilage or degradation.

The effectiveness of termokastid lies in their layered construction. They typically feature an outer shell made of durable materials like plastic or metal, an insulating core, and an inner lining.
