Televisiojakelu refers to the methods and systems used to transmit television programming to viewers. More recently, internet protocol television (IPTV) and over-the-top (OTT) streaming services have revolutionized television distribution. IPTV utilizes the internet to deliver live and on-demand television content over a managed network, often by a service provider. OTT services, such as Netflix and YouTube, deliver content directly to viewers over the public internet, bypassing traditional broadcasters and cable companies entirely. These modern methods offer flexibility, a vast selection of content, and the ability to watch on various devices. Each distribution method has its own technical requirements, cost structures, and advantages for different user needs.
