Teendje is a neighbourhood located in the eastern part of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It falls within the Amsterdam-Oost borough and has a population of approximately 6,500 residents. The area is recognized for its vibrant cultural and social dynamics, hosting a significant number of artists, refugees, and people from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

Teendje is situated near the Oost-Groenoord shopping center and the Oosterdokseiland, an artificial island that plays a significant role in Amsterdam's harbour development. Teendje is characterized by a mixture of social housing, office spaces, and business premises. Historically, the neighbourhood hosted one of the city's oldest and largest refugee centres. As of the present, the community incorporates around 100 buildings that cater to residential needs. Well known is the loss of hundred houses demolished summer 1989.
