Teczka is a Polish term for a folder, file, or portfolio used to collect and organize papers. The plural teczki is used for multiple folders, and the word can also denote a dossier or case file compiled for a person, project, or procedure.

Physical teczki are usually made of cardboard, thick paper, or plastic and are designed to hold sheets of paper. They can be plain or feature pockets, clasps, or fasteners. Common types include teczki tekturowe (cardboard folders), teczki plastikowe (plastic folders), and teczki z klipsem (clip folders).

In daily use, teczki help organize documents by topic, project, or person. They are used in offices, schools, archives, and government agencies to keep papers together and facilitate transport or filing.

In administrative language, teczka aktowa means the physical file that groups documents related to a given person or case. Such dossiers may include letters, forms, decisions, and supporting records.

With digitization, teczki are increasingly complemented or replaced by electronic folders and document-management systems. Scanned papers are indexed and stored in digital teczki (folders) or in databases, enabling quick search and e-mail sharing.

The term remains common in contemporary Polish, reflecting a lasting practice of organizing paper records alongside modern digital methods.
