Tannvev, also known as dental tissue, refers to the specialized tissues that make up a tooth. These include enamel, dentin, cementum, and pulp. Enamel is the hard, outermost layer of the tooth, providing protection and contributing to chewing. Beneath the enamel lies dentin, a porous tissue that forms the bulk of the tooth. Cementum is a calcified connective tissue covering the root of the tooth, anchoring it to the jawbone. The innermost part of the tooth is the pulp, a soft tissue containing nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue.
The pulp is crucial for tooth vitality, supplying nutrients and sensation. Damage to the pulp, often from
