sülün
Sülün is a common name used in Turkish for several species of pheasants, most notably the common pheasant (Phasianus colchicus). This bird is a large game bird native to Asia, but it has been widely introduced to Europe and North America for hunting purposes. The male pheasant, or sülün, is renowned for its vibrant plumage, featuring iridescent green, blue, and bronze feathers, a distinctive white neck ring, and a long, pointed tail. The female sülün, in contrast, is much more cryptically colored, with mottled brown plumage that provides excellent camouflage for nesting.
Sülün typically inhabit agricultural areas, grasslands, woodlands, and scrubland, where they can find food and cover.
