Nouns denote persons, places, things, or ideas. Adjectives describe or modify nouns. Verbs express actions, states of being, or occurrences. Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs, providing information about manner, time, place, or degree. Pronouns stand in for nouns. Numerals indicate quantity or order. Conjunctions connect words, phrases, or clauses. Prepositions show the relationship between a noun or pronoun and another word in the sentence, typically indicating location or direction. Interjections express strong emotion. Understanding these categories is fundamental to constructing grammatically correct and meaningful sentences in Estonian.
