Muscle tissue is primarily responsible for movement, generating force and contraction to facilitate locomotion. There are three main types of muscle tissue: skeletal, smooth, and cardiac. Skeletal muscle is attached to bones and helps move limbs, while smooth muscle is found in the walls of hollow organs like blood vessels and helps in peristalsis.
