szájpadlásunkon
Szájpadlásunkon, commonly referred to as the palate, is a complex anatomical structure forming the roof of the mouth. It is divided into two main parts: the hard palate and the soft palate. The hard palate, located at the front of the mouth, is a bony structure covered by mucous membrane. It serves as a barrier between the oral and nasal cavities and plays a crucial role in the process of mastication, providing a firm surface for food to be ground against. The rugae, or ridges, on its surface aid in manipulating food during chewing.
Posterior to the hard palate lies the soft palate, a muscular flap also covered by mucous membrane.
