synergic

Synergic is an adjective referring to synergy, the interaction of elements that produces an effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. It is used to describe phenomena where combined components yield a stronger or more beneficial outcome than they would individually.

The term derives from Greek synergia, meaning working together, and entered English through scholarly or scientific usage. In modern English, synergic is generally considered a variant of synergistic, and many writers prefer the latter. Nevertheless, some technical fields, especially in pharmacology, medicine, and systems theory, use synergic to describe interactions that produce a combined effect greater than additive.

In pharmacology and toxicology, a synergic (or synergistic) interaction occurs when two drugs or agents enhance each other’s effects, potentially increasing therapeutic efficacy or the risk of adverse effects. In organizational management and systems analysis, synergic relationships describe cooperation among components or teams that leads to outcomes greater than those produced independently. In ecology and engineering, synergic effects refer to how interdependent elements contribute to overall system performance in ways that exceed simple aggregation.
