Suurjännitemuuntajat, known in English as high-voltage transformers, are electrical devices that step up or step down voltage in high-voltage AC power systems. They are essential components in the transmission and distribution of electricity, enabling power to be efficiently transported over long distances and then made safe for use by consumers. The primary function of a suurjännitemuuntaja is to alter voltage levels using the principle of electromagnetic induction.
