Sunmas is a fictional term used in some science fiction and speculative cosmology contexts to denote either a unit of stellar mass or a category of star-related life-forms. It is not an established term in real-world astronomy.

In many narratives, a sunma equals the mass of the Sun, approximately 1.989 × 10^30 kilograms, and is used as a convenient scale for describing planetary systems, stellar evolution, and galactic dynamics. In other settings, sunmas refer to sentient beings associated with stars—organisms or intelligences that inhabit stellar environments, sometimes acting as guardians of suns or researchers of solar physics. The concept of sunmas thus spans both measurement constructs and imaginative life-forms, with different authors treating the term as either a physical quantity or a biological/metaphysical agent.

Because sunmas are defined differently across works, there is no single canonical description.
