Sukad is a unit of length in the metric system that is no longer in common use. It was equivalent to 10 meters, or 100 decimeters. The name "sukad" is derived from the Dutch word "suiker," meaning sugar, as it was historically used to measure the amount of sugar cane that could be grown on a certain area of land. While not currently an official SI unit, it occasionally appears in historical contexts or in older literature.

The sukad was part of a larger set of metric units that were developed in the late 18th century during the French Revolution. These units aimed to standardize measurements across different regions and industries. The sukad, along with other less common metric units, was eventually superseded by more widely adopted and simpler metric prefixes. Today, the meter and its standard multiples and submultiples are the dominant units of length in the metric system.
