Sprayikuivaus, also known as spray drying, is a method of drying a liquid or slurry by atomizing it into a hot drying medium. The liquid is dispersed as fine droplets into a stream of hot air or gas. As the droplets fall through the chamber, the solvent rapidly evaporates, leaving behind a dry powder. This process is widely used in various industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.

The key components of a spray dryer include an atomizer, a drying chamber, and a collection system. The atomizer breaks the liquid feed into small droplets, increasing the surface area available for evaporation.
