spierparen
Spierparen refers to the biological principle where muscles in the body often work in opposing pairs to produce movement. For any given joint action, such as bending an elbow, there is usually a prime mover muscle that initiates and performs the action, and an antagonist muscle that opposes that action. When the prime mover contracts, the antagonist must relax or lengthen to allow the movement to occur smoothly. For example, in bending the elbow, the biceps brachii is the agonist (prime mover), and the triceps brachii is the antagonist. Conversely, when straightening the elbow, the triceps becomes the agonist and the biceps the antagonist.
This antagonistic arrangement is crucial for controlled and precise movements. It allows for both the generation
