Spektrivärvid, often translated as "spectrum colors" or "rainbow colors," refers to the individual colors that make up the visible light spectrum. When white light is passed through a prism or observed in a rainbow, it is dispersed into its constituent colors. These colors are arranged in a specific order based on their wavelength.

The generally accepted order of colors in the visible spectrum is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Red has the longest wavelength, while violet has the shortest. Each of these colors represents a narrow band of electromagnetic radiation within the visible range.

The perception of these colors is a result of how our eyes and brains interpret different wavelengths of light. While the six or seven distinct colors are commonly named, the spectrum is actually a continuous gradient of hues. The exact boundaries between colors are not sharp but rather blend into one another.
