Slutkonsumtionens is a Swedish term used in macroeconomics to refer to final consumption expenditure within the national accounts. It measures the value of goods and services purchased and used by resident households, non-profit institutions serving households (NPISH), and general government for the direct satisfaction of needs in a given period, normally a year. In Sweden, as in many statistical systems, final consumption expenditure is a component of GDP calculated by the expenditure approach: GDP = final consumption expenditure + gross capital formation + (exports - imports).
