Skandinaavista is a Finnish term used to describe Scandinavian studies or a person who specializes in the region of Scandinavia. In Finnish academic and cultural contexts, the word can function as both an adjective and a noun, referring to study, scholarship, or a scholar of the Norden.

The field covers languages (Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Icelandic, Finnish and other Nordic languages), literature, history, politics, society, art and media. Research and teaching often take a cross-disciplinary approach, combining philology, cultural studies and the social sciences to analyze how Nordic countries influence and exchange with each other and with Finland.
