singlemeasure
Single measure is a commonly used term in music to refer to one bar of music, though it is not a formal technical term. In standard notation, a measure (also called a bar) is a fixed span of musical time defined by the meter and bounded by vertical barlines. The number of beats in a measure is determined by the time signature, such as 4/4 (four quarter-note beats), 3/4 (three quarter-note beats), or 6/8 (six eighth-note beats grouped in two main beats). A measure organizes rhythm and pitch, and may contain notes, rests, chords, and other symbols. In performance, a single measure can be repeated, varied, or used as a unit in phrasing.
In notation, barlines enclose each measure; measure numbers help performers and editors locate sections. In music
