Sibald (c. 650–723) is venerated as a medieval Christian saint within the Western Church, though few contemporary records attest to his life. He is traditionally described as a monk who converted from paganism to Christianity in the Frankish territories of northern France. Tradition holds that he was born into a noble family in the region that is now Burgundy, and that he entered monastic life at the age of fifteen at a small community on the banks of the Saône.
