sentrifugalstøping
Sentrifugalstøping, also known as centrifugal casting, is a manufacturing process used to produce hollow cylindrical castings. In this method, molten metal is poured into a rotating mold. The centrifugal force generated by the rotation causes the molten metal to be evenly distributed against the inner walls of the mold, forming a solid cylindrical shape as it cools. The rotation also helps to expel impurities and create a dense, homogeneous casting with excellent mechanical properties. The speed of rotation and the mold material are critical parameters that influence the final product. This process is particularly well-suited for producing pipes, tubes, bushings, and other symmetrical hollow components. Advantages include high accuracy, good surface finish, and the ability to cast various metals and alloys. The inner diameter is typically formed by the lack of metal in the center, while the outer diameter is dictated by the mold. After solidification, the casting is removed from the mold and may undergo further processing like machining.
