Schroefdraadklassen refer to a system used in pipe connections for the exchange of different pipe diameters, primarily in plumbing and hydraulics. The term is Dutch, translating to "screw thread classes" in English. In this system, a threading Table is used to specify the details of the thread, including the type, angle and length of the engagement.

The Schroefdraadklassen are categorized by a rating, for example F, G, H, and others. This classification is related to the strictness of the thread requirements and it reflects the snugness with which the pipes are joined. Higher rating classes have more precise thread dimensions, corresponding to a tighter fit. These precise dimensions, as well as certain other considerations, dictate the sort of seal or gasket used on installations.

Threads are also categorized according to their type, with two common types being internal threads used for pipe connections and external threads for screwmounts or sumps. Although designs have evolved to also accommodate shoulder threads, which are composed of both internal and external threading.

The system affects not only the process of connecting pipe segments, but also affects the various outside components and lubricants necessary for functionality.
