sPLA2IIF
Secreted phospholipase A2 group IIF, also known as sPLA2IIF or PLA2G2F, is a calcium-dependent enzyme. It belongs to the phospholipase A2 superfamily, which are characterized by their ability to hydrolyze ester bonds at the sn-2 position of phospholipids. This enzymatic activity releases a fatty acid and a lysophospholipid. sPLA2IIF specifically targets phospholipids and plays a role in lipid metabolism and inflammatory processes.
The gene encoding sPLA2IIF is located on chromosome 15 in humans. The protein is secreted from cells
Research has investigated the involvement of sPLA2IIF in a range of physiological and pathological conditions. Its
