süsteemistestimine

Süsteemistestimine is the Estonian term for system testing. It is a level of software testing where a complete and integrated software system is tested. The purpose of system testing is to evaluate the system's compliance with its specified requirements. It is performed after integration testing and before acceptance testing.

During system testing, the entire system is tested as a whole, encompassing all its modules and functionalities. This type of testing verifies that all components work together correctly and that the system meets the functional and non-functional requirements defined by the stakeholders. Non-functional requirements often tested at this stage include performance, security, usability, and reliability.

System testing aims to uncover defects that may have been introduced during integration or that are inherent to the system's architecture. It is typically performed by an independent testing team, distinct from the development team, to ensure objectivity. Various techniques can be employed, including black-box testing, where the internal structure of the system is not known to the tester, and white-box testing, where the internal workings are understood.

The outcome of system testing is a report detailing the tests performed, the defects found, and the overall quality of the system. Successful completion of system testing indicates that the system is ready for user acceptance testing, where end-users will validate its suitability for their needs.
