Röntgenaparaadiga, also known as an X-ray machine, is a medical imaging device that utilizes X-rays to produce images of the inside of a body. These machines are fundamental tools in diagnostics, allowing healthcare professionals to visualize bones, organs, and other internal structures without the need for surgery.

The core principle behind an X-ray machine is the generation of X-rays, a form of electromagnetic radiation. An X-ray tube contains a cathode that emits electrons when heated. These electrons are then accelerated towards an anode, where they collide with a target material, typically tungsten. This collision causes a small portion of the electrons' kinetic energy to be converted into X-rays. The X-rays then pass through the patient's body. Different tissues and structures absorb X-rays to varying degrees. Denser materials like bone absorb more X-rays, appearing lighter on the resulting image, while softer tissues absorb fewer, appearing darker.

The X-rays that pass through the patient strike a detector, which can be photographic film or, more commonly today, a digital sensor. This detector records the pattern of X-ray absorption, creating a grayscale image that represents the internal anatomy. Röntgenaparaadiga are used for a wide range of medical examinations, including detecting fractures, diagnosing pneumonia, identifying foreign objects, and examining the digestive system. While highly beneficial, X-ray radiation does carry some risks, and its use is carefully controlled and minimized to ensure patient safety.
