Rozgaznienie is the Polish term for the removal of dissolved gases from liquids. It encompasses a family of techniques used in chemistry, process engineering, and related fields to reduce the concentration of gases such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and other dissolved gases. The goal is to improve product stability, prevent gas-related degradation, and protect processes and equipment from gas formation or corrosion.

Methods commonly employed include vacuum degassing, which lowers partial pressure to encourage gases to exit the liquid; thermal degassing, where heating reduces gas solubility; mechanical degassing through agitation or flashing; gas stripping, in which an inert gas is bubbled through the liquid to carry away volatiles; and membrane-based degassing using permeable membranes. Ultrasonic degassing is used in some niche applications. The choice of method depends on the liquid, the target gas, required purity, and energy considerations.

Applications are widespread. In water treatment, degassing removes dissolved oxygen and other gases to prevent corrosion and spoilage. In the beverage industry, it helps remove unwanted CO2 or other gases to stabilize taste and texture. In chemical manufacturing and pharmaceuticals, degassing prepares solvents and ultrapure water for sensitive processes. In metallurgy, degassing removes hydrogen, nitrogen, and other gases from molten metals to improve quality and mechanical properties.

Equipment ranges from simple vacuum chambers and degassing vessels to advanced membrane contactors and gas-tight piping systems. Key considerations include preventing reintroduction of gases, avoiding contamination, and effectively monitoring dissolved-gas levels.
