Rodzajowy is a Polish adjective formed from the noun rodzaj (meaning kind, type, or genus) with the suffix -owy. It denotes relation to a kind or category and is primarily used in technical or scholarly language. The exact sense depends on context, and the term is not part of everyday speech in most cases.

In biology and taxonomy, rodzajowy can refer to something belonging to or characteristic of a genus (rodzaj). In this usage you might encounter phrases such as cechy rodzajowe (genus-related features) or klasyfikacja rodzajowa (genus-based classification). The word thus functions as the adjectival form describing relationships to the taxonomic rank of genus.

In linguistics or grammar, some older or specialized texts may use rodzajowy to signal matters connected with rodzaj in the sense of gender. However, in contemporary Polish grammar the standard term for grammatical gender is rodza j gramatyczny (gender) rather than rodzajowy.
