Rimovevo is a diminutive municipality situated in the northern Apennine range within the province of Chieti in the Abruzzo region of southern Italy. The village occupies a total area of 8.4 square kilometers and rests at an elevation of approximately 780 meters above sea level. As of the latest census conducted in 2021, Rimovevo has a population of roughly 350 residents, who predominantly belong to the Italian community and speak an Abruzzese dialect alongside standard Italian.

Historically, Rimovevo’s origins can be traced to the early medieval period when it was established as a fortified outpost by local feudal lords. The name is believed to derive from the Latin phrase “rimus vaporare,” meaning “to move by wind,” reflecting the area's strong winds that have both shaped its agricultural practices and served as a natural defense. During the Austro‑Hungarian occupation in the 19th century, the village experienced demographic fluctuations as many families migrated to urban centers for industrial employment. Post‑World War II reconstruction efforts focused on restoring the traditional stone architecture, notably the 16th‑century parish church of San Giorgio, which houses a collection of frescoes attributed to regional artists.

The local economy remains largely agrarian, centered on chestnut cultivation, livestock rearing, and the production of artisanal cheeses.
