rekombinationspunkter
Rekombinationspunkter, often referred to as crossover points, are specific locations on a chromosome where genetic recombination occurs. This process, known as crossing over, is a fundamental mechanism in sexual reproduction that shuffles genetic material between homologous chromosomes. During meiosis, the specialized cell division that produces gametes, homologous chromosomes pair up. At one or more points along these paired chromosomes, the DNA strands break and then rejoin in a way that exchanges segments. These exchange points are the rekombinationspunkter.
The frequency of recombination between two genes on the same chromosome is generally proportional to the distance
