Reflexiivset is a term used in linguistic descriptions to refer to reflexivity. Reflexivity is the relation in which the agent and the patient of an action are the same participant, typically encoded by reflexive pronouns or reflexive verb forms. In English, reflexive constructions use pronouns such as myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, themselves, and in other languages verbs can carry reflexive morphology or particles, as in French se laver or Spanish lavarse.

Reflexive constructions can serve several functions: marking the subject's involvement with the action, emphasizing the subject, or indicating idiomatic meanings that differ from non-reflexive forms. They can be used with transitive verbs to show the action directed back at the doer. They are distinct from reciprocal constructions, which involve two or more participants performing an action on each other, as in they hurt each other.

There are different mechanisms to express reflexivity in languages: pronominal reflexives that accompany the verb, reflexive affixes attached to the verb, or reflexive particles.
