redoxmediation
Redox mediation is a process where a mediator molecule facilitates electron transfer between two species that might not otherwise readily react. This mediator molecule, often a redox-active compound, accepts electrons from a reducing agent and then transfers them to an oxidizing agent, or vice-versa. The mediator itself is regenerated in the process, allowing it to participate in multiple cycles of electron transfer.
This phenomenon is significant in various chemical and biological systems. In electrochemistry, redox mediators are employed
In biological systems, redox mediation plays a crucial role in cellular respiration and photosynthesis. Electron transport
