Redakálás is the set of activities that prepare a text for publication, including revising content, improving structure, and polishing language. It is used in journalism, publishing, and academic contexts to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

The term is borrowed from the concept of editorial work and relates to the Hungarian word redakció (editorial office) and to the verb redaktálni. In Hungarian usage, redakálás refers to the broader process of editing rather than only proofreading.

Within redakálás, several types are commonly distinguished: content editing, structural editing, copy editing, and proofreading. Content editing focuses on ideas and organization; structural editing on coherence and argument; copy editing on language, style, and terminology; proofreading on surface errors.
