recrystallises
Recrystallises is a process by which a solid material is formed or reformed from a melt, solution, or more rarely, a solid-state diffusion process. The fundamental principle involves the material passing through a liquid phase. When a solid melts, its constituent atoms or molecules gain enough kinetic energy to overcome the forces holding them in a fixed lattice structure. As this liquid cools, or as the solvent evaporates from a solution, the atoms or molecules lose energy and arrange themselves into a more ordered, crystalline structure. This new arrangement often results in a purer and more stable form of the material.
In the context of purification, recrystallisation is a widely used technique. Impurities present in the original
