Reaktiovoimien, often translated as reaction forces, are a fundamental concept in physics, most notably described by Sir Isaac Newton's third law of motion. This law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. In simpler terms, when one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object simultaneously exerts a force back on the first object that is equal in magnitude and opposite in direction.

These reaction forces are not imaginary or less real than the initial action forces. They are always present and act on different objects. For example, when you push against a wall, your hand exerts a force on the wall (the action). The wall, in turn, pushes back on your hand with an equal and opposite force (the reaction). This reaction force is what prevents you from passing through the wall.

Another common example is walking. When you walk, your foot pushes backward on the ground (action). The ground then pushes forward on your foot with an equal and opposite force (reaction), propelling you forward. Similarly, a rocket expels hot gases downward (action), and the gases push the rocket upward (reaction), allowing it to fly.
