Reaktiojärjestys, also known as the order of reaction, is a concept in chemical kinetics that describes how the rate of a chemical reaction depends on the concentration of the reactants. It is determined experimentally and cannot be predicted solely from the stoichiometry of the balanced chemical equation.

The rate law for a reaction is expressed as an equation that relates the reaction rate to the concentrations of reactants raised to certain powers. These powers are the reaction orders with respect to each reactant. For a general reaction aA + bB -> Products, the rate law is often written as Rate = k[A]^m[B]^n, where [A] and [B] are the concentrations of reactants A and B, k is the rate constant, and m and n are the reaction orders with respect to A and B, respectively. The overall order of the reaction is the sum of the individual orders (m + n).

For example, a reaction can be zero-order, first-order, or second-order with respect to a particular reactant. In a zero-order reaction, the rate is independent of the reactant's concentration. In a first-order reaction, the rate is directly proportional to the concentration of the reactant. In a second-order reaction, the rate is proportional to the square of the reactant's concentration.
