It prefers well-oxygenated water with a temperature range of 22-28 degrees Celsius (72-82 degrees Fahrenheit) and a pH level between 6.0 and 7.5. Its diet consists mainly of small insects, worms, and plant matter, which it feeds on by filtering water through its gills.
