Rajoa is a small settlement situated in the central highlands of Nepal, within the administrative boundaries of Kathmandu District. It lies approximately eighteen kilometres to the north of the capital city, Kathmandu, at an elevation of around 1,300 metres above sea level. The village is positioned on a gently sloping valley that drains into the Manaslu River, providing a modest but reliable water source for local agriculture and domestic use.

The population of Rajoa is estimated at roughly 1,200 residents, according to the most recent census. The community is predominantly composed of ethnic Newar families, with a minority of Pahari and Magar groups. Nepali is the officially recognised language, while Newari and Gurung are also spoken in informal settings. The villagers traditionally practice subsistence farming, cultivating maize, millet, and a variety of vegetables during the dry season, and shifting their crops to ruha (groundnut) and rice in the monsoon months. Small-scale animal husbandry, notably yaks and goats, contributes to the local economy.

Culturally, Rajoa participates in the broader Newar festival calendar, observing celebrations such as Dashain and Tihar with local adaptations. The village hosts a shrines dedicated to the deity Masha Devi, which serves as a social gathering point for the community. While infrastructural developments such as improved road access have been made in recent years, the region still relies on a limited number of primary schools and a rural health post for educational and medical services.
