Përcept is a term found in Albanian-language academic writing that refers to the English concept of a percept. While the standard Albanian noun for the concept is perceptim, përcept may appear as a shortened form or as a direct loan in textbooks and glossaries that translate or introduce English terminology about perception. In cognitive science and philosophy of mind, a percept denotes the immediate mental content produced by sensory processing—the result of interpreting sensory input, such as the appearance of a red apple or a particular tone, as experienced by a subject. A percept is typically contrasted with sensation (the raw sensory input) and with perception as the broader process by which stimuli are organized, interpreted, and given meaning.
