Puskurilähteitä, often translated as buffer sources or buffer lamps, are a type of electrical device used to supply voltage to a component or circuit for a limited duration. Their primary function is to provide a temporary, stable power source when the main power supply fluctuates or is temporarily interrupted. This allows sensitive electronic equipment to continue operating or to shut down safely without data loss or damage.

These devices typically incorporate a rechargeable battery and associated control circuitry. When the main voltage is present and stable, the puskurilähde charges its internal battery and also passes power through to the connected load.
