The Purukumissa is an archaeological site located in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, roughly halfway between the cities of Rewa and Sidhi. This site, which dates back to the 10th century BCE, is primarily known for its connection to the portal of Janus in the ancient city of Pracya.

Excavations carried out in the early 20th century led to the discovery of artifacts, including ceramic artifacts, idol structures of Lord Shiva, and lion's outfits that resemble Pashupatinath. Purukumissa's close proximity to both Rewa and Sidhi presents an interesting regional context.

Ancient Pracya is associated with the Vedic concept of sacred geography. Pracya, along with Ayodhya and Mathura, was part of the sacred triangle in the Veda's narrative. This site is mentioned in the Mahabharata and even described in some astrological texts as a place of local resounding orthodoxy. Purukumissa was strategically chosen for excavation due to its dynamic old region and the possible developments that could be obtained. Separate transactions were mapped out at the time of discovery, when sufficient historical context could yield options and deliveries.
